End of Life Doula

GUIDANCE ON THE FINAL JOURNEY OF LIFE

A woman in white dress walks through a desert
“The end of life doula role is both new and ancient – a return to how humans have always naturally cared for each other during life’s most sacred event.”

Just as doulas are present at birth, end of life doulas provide specialized services as a person approaches their transition into death. Death and dying are a part of life that can oftentimes cause fear, anxiety or denial. I believe that embracing death as a natural part of life, and planning for it in a thoughtful and meaningful way is essential to living and dying well as it is integral to our wholeness as humans. Through kindness, respect, and professionalism, my role as an end of life doula is to work with dying people as well as their families, to provide comfort through complex emotions as well as mental and spiritual experiences. La Loba Soul Support helps individuals, families, + the culture at large meet the ongoing process of birth, growth, death, + rebirth in a more soul-centric + healing way. In honoring my clients’ wishes, I strive to bring light to the miracle of a life—even in its final stages. I work with community organizations, such as local hospices, hospitals, and religious organizations in growing and deepening the care for the aging and the dying.

“Our grief is a holy thing. It is that proof that another life touched ours in a profound way. It is the mark of love, the mark of connection, and the mark of a life well lived.”

“May the nourishment of the earth be yours,
May the clarity of light be yours,
May the fluency of the ocean be yours,
May the protection of the ancestors be yours.
And so may a slow
Wind work these words
Of love around you,
An invisible cloak
To mind your life…”
